Safety Information

Dangers of being around horses:

  • THEY CAN KICK
  • THEY CAN BITE
  • THEY CAN MOVE QUICKLY WITHOUT WARNING
  • THEY ARE HEAVY
  • THEY CAN BE STUBBORN
  • THEY CAN BE EASILY FRIGHTENED

Horses are naturally prey animals and their natural response to being worried is to remove themselves from the situation at speed.

In the majority of situations horses are very relaxed and happy but you must always be aware of the above when working around them. We recommend you wear a hard hat at all times when working on the yards and going to fields.

Please keep yards clear of any obstructions in case of loose horses.

Always were appropriate footwear, horse can weigh up to 700kg.

Never attempt to lift any weight over 20kg.

Keep well away from working machinery.

NEVER PUT YOURSELF OR OTHER INDIVIDUALS AT RISK. ASK A MEMBER OF STAFF TO ASSIST

Report any safety concerns immediately to a member of staff.
